WANA (Apr 16) – The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the continued U.S. airstrikes on certain areas in Yemen, which have led to the death and injury of Yemeni citizens and the destruction of people’s homes and the country’s infrastructure.

Esmail Baghaei described the U.S. airstrikes against Yemen as illegal and a blatant violation of the fundamental principles and rules of international law. He emphasized that these attacks will only further embolden the Israeli regime in continuing its genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories and will intensify insecurity in the region.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, while expressing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s solidarity with the resilient people of Yemen—who, out of a sense of humanitarian duty, wholeheartedly support the oppressed people of Palestine against the occupation and genocide by the Israeli regime—described the U.S. military attacks on Yemen and the violation of its territorial integrity as a clear threat to international peace and security.

He called for an end to the silence and inaction of the United Nations Security Council and urged comprehensive and effective action by Islamic governments and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to stop these violations of law, breaches of international peace and security, and to condemn the aggression against Yemen.
